Mluleki holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Cape Town. He has 10 years design and research experience in the fields of solid waste management, and water and wastewater treatment, working on projects in East and Southern Africa. He currently works for Umgeni Water as a wastewater specialist, involved in treatment plant process design, commissioning, plant optimization and mentoring technicians and graduate engineers in the field.

Mlu is the current Chair of the Anaerobic Sludge Processes Division of WISA and his past accolades include being a member of the Golden Key Society, South Africa’s Brightest Young Minds, youngest committee member of the IWA’s Resources Oriented Sanitation and a recipient of the Thabo Mbeki Leadership in Africa Scholarship. Mlu is passionate about skills transfer and the role Young Professionals can play in the field, currently and in the near future.
